Toward globalization of the real estate market
As investing in real estate becomes global, it is only natural that we focus on areas of the world which will be the Eldorado of the twenty-first century. Ways of life are globalizing as well and the outer-world is attracting us more and more from our national boundaries. The more astute amongst us will consider globalization as an opportunity to combine lifestyle and wealth management strategy at a global level. As a matter of fact, it is now possible to buy a property for three or four times less than an equivalent asset in France or any other developed European, North American or Asian country. Countries with ideal climates, where homeland security and crime problems that we are facing in Europe or North America do not exist, can offer good investment opportunities, along with modern infrastructures and a high heightened sense of customer service, that enable a very comfortable lifestyle.
In a purely patrimonial perspective, let’s take the example of a 100,000 € or 100,000 $ investment. This investment will in most cases yield a return no smaller than 6% after taxes, without even considering the possible capital gain due to natural market evolution. Very attractive tax benefits and simpler relationships between lessee and lessor (tenant and landlord) create a good context for profit, without the fear of litigation risks.

My Home Abroad was created to meet the needs of internationalization and to address an increasing demand from our clients who would like to invest abroad or spend more time away from their homeland.

Michel Guggenbühl
After graduating as a lawyer, Michel started his brokerage activity in industry and joined a large real estate group where he gained his expertise. For the past twenty years, he has been the CEO of Euro Foncier Immobilier Agency, a real estate company in the east of Paris. This company, located at Noisy Le Grand, consists of ten employees and offers clients a large array of services, including sales, rental, and rental management activity. When the project of creating an international high school in Marne-la-Vallée and Noisy-le-Grand was launched, just like in Sophia Antipolis or Saint Germain en Laye, Michel understood that there was an opportunity to evolve toward international markets.
Thanks to FNAIM, he completed an American seminar thereby acquiring his CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist) certificate, before becoming a member of the FIABCI, which gives him access to many reliable contacts around the world.
Being fond of Asia, he launched an international team at Euro Foncier Immobilier, in order to offer Thai properties to French clients.
At the end of 2009, he founded, along with Alexandre Kotenkoff, the international brokerage firm My Home Abroad, which has a large offering of properties abroad and various services geared towards attractive destinations.
Alexandre Kotenkoff
Alexandre, who graduated as an engineer, has, by means of his extensive world travels, developed an expertise and network of international contacts in several countries, including Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, Russia and Vietnam. After ten years in the European aeronautical industry, in charge of management roles with high technical and scientific skills, Alexandre decided to evolve toward international real estate. He has had a growing interest in Asian real estate for the last two years and has been brokering real estate transactions between France and Asia since June of 2009.
Kim Guggenbühl
Kim’s knowledge of Asian countries, of the Thai, Khmer and Vietnamese languages, as well as the Teochew Chinese dialect is a key asset for our professional activities in that part of the world.
Tugdual JAN
After a Business School, Tugdual started his broker activity in the west of Paris for Century 21, one of the most famous real estate franchises. After many years as a broker, he decided to evolve toward Thailand real estate market.
Early 2010, he settled with Michel Guggenbühl and Alexandre Kotenkoff My Home Abroad Thailand Co Ltd.
